Perugia, Assisi, Siena, and San Gimignano (weekend 10)

I don't really remember details about the four places we visited, because we just kept getting a lot of information from our tour guides, but my favorite places would have to be Assisi and San Gimignano. All of these places are medieval towns and are just so beautiful.. and hilly. At one point, I was able to really see myself living in Assisi, it was just so charming. Also, the formatting for the pictures is really sucky, so don't mind that.

Perugia

still in Perugia

So Ashley, Katie, and I woke up really early on Saturday morning to get on the bus to Perugia. We got there, took pictures and had a tour, and went to the hotel for lunch, which was lasagne, salad, tiramisu and ice cream. The hotel was really nice, and we were only staying there for one night. After lunch, they took us to Assisi, which was beautiful and my favorite place we visited. Everything was so pretty, and it ended up being beautiful outside, which was an added bonus. I'm glad we were able to make up this trip at the end of March since the weather was much nicer than it would have been during orientation weekend. After spending some time in Assisi and getting another tour, we headed back to the hotel. We had the option of going to Mass in Assisi, and Margo ended up going. She also was really helpful in explaining Palm Sunday to me since I had no idea what it really was. Back at the hostel, we ended up napping before dinner... which was 3 different pastas and risotto! So many carbs!

The next day we went to Siena, which was also beautiful, and we had free time for lunch. After lunch, we ended up staying in the Piazza del Campo, where we tanned and just relaxed before the next part of our trip. In San Gimignano, we also had a tour, but then had free time to buy things and also try the "best gelato" ever. We ended up getting back to Florence around 6 pm, and then Ashley and I picked up Bri from the train station at around 8:45. The three of us plus Katie ended up going to Gusta Pizza, which was really yummy, except we ended up getting our pizza at 11!
